As you enter the Museum you will find yourself in our shop and the Visitor Information Point with brochures and free maps of the area provided by ‘Visit Brighton’, and a range of smaller exhibits including an overhead quarter-scale radio-controlled Spitfire fighter plane, a motorised Meccano Ferris wheel, and the “Glamour of Brighton” display cases.
To see all of the exhibits the museum has to offer you will need to purchase a ticket from the shop counter.
The Museum Shop
The Museum shop has a carousel display at the rear that carries a range of small new toys and activity sets while our display cabinets Collector’s Market items such as toy cars, train sets, models cards and books.
The Collector’s Market stock fills three large cabinets and is regularly rotated but often features rail model stock by Hornby, Wrenn, Marklin, Triang, Fleischman, Roco, Trix and other toys by makes such as Matchbox and Dinky along with various others.
For more information on the collectors market and to see a sample of some of the high quality pieces we currently have for sale please check the shop page.
Not all toy and model donations to the museum are of museum quality, or museum rarity. Where the owners agree, these items are put on sale in the Shop’s Collector’s Market to raise funds for the Museum, and to ensure that the pieces go to good homes.
