A fairly modern 00-gauge electric model of the streamlined blue and silver striped LMS Coronation locomotive 6220, made by Hornby.
It's interesting to compare the final effect of the modern plastic moulded bodyshell used in the Hornby model, against the painted metal of the 1930s Bassett-Lowke piece.
Hornby have revised the model over the years, this version (R.685) was produced in the 1980s and 1990s. In this model, the electric motor is built into the tender rather than the locomotive, with power fed from the loco by a metal coupling ("tender drive"). It has some detailing improvements over the previous version (R.864, 1970's/80s).
