A distinctive Trix "Permag" Electric Motor with punched side-plate surfaces, part of the Trix Construction Set range.

The motor gives a good visual explanation of how an electric motor works, with a three-coil rotor suspended between the poles of a very obvious red and silver horseshoe magnet.
