A very early red 1920s "MLDL Hornby" gauge 0 LNWR Gunpowder Van with white roof, black "type 1" base, and black couplings.

The wagon has a hinged opening side door, with "LN" painted in white on one side and "WR" on the other, and "GUNPOWDER VAN" painted in white on the door itself.

What's notable about this wagon (apart from the LNWR markings and the type 1 base) is that the door handle isn't made from a piece of shaped and folded-over tinplate as it is on almost all of the later Hornby vans of this type - instead it has a specially-cast metal drop handle - a level of detailing that was presumably later decided to be unnecessarily extravagant.
