Card No. 42  : The HEINKEL H.E. 70A. (Germany)HEINKEL H.E. 70A. (Germany)

This commercial monoplane is one of the most interesting types built in Germany since the War, and, although so small, it can accommodate seven people. It is, however, mainly used as a high-speed mail-carrier. With a top speed of 234 m.p.h. and a cruising speed of 200 m.p.h., it has established eight world's speed records in its class with various loads. The Pilot's seat is in the front of the cabin and behind it is a seat for a wireless operator and one passenger. Behind this is the main passenger compartment. The Heinkel monoplane is fitted with a retractable undercarriage.
