An Allwin is a catch-all term for a type of Arcade machine that was manufactured by a variety of companies such as The British Manufacturing Company and Bryans Automatic Works. While a lot of variety of designs were available with a mixture of different gimmicks, the core concept of an Allwin was that the player would place a coin into the machine which would free a small ball bearing (or in some speciality models the coin itself, called a 'Drop Case' 1).

The player would then have to use their judgement to work out how hard to hit a lever to send the ball flying around the inside of the case and hopefully into a waiting cup to win their money back, or potentially additional coins!
