1940 catalogue description
- " These animals are natives of Africa, and their striking markings are well known. They roam about in herds of from ten to twenty. A peculiarity of these animals is that one member of a herd acts as a sentinel and gives warning of danger by sense of smell, long before the enemy is in sight. "
