A very early grey 1920s "MLDL" Hornby gauge 0 LNWR Wagon. This is an example of the very earliest Hornby rolling stock. It has a deep black base, with the simple, early "type 1" trunions, brass buffers, and a bolt-together construction.

The detailing on the wagon (plank lines and studs) are embossed, and the white LNWR lettering is made from separate stamped pieces for each letter, fixed to the wagon walls using folded metal tabs that fit into slots in the wagon sides.

On later pieces, the company names tended to be painted on, instead.
