This is one of the metal header signs that were attached to the front of locomotives working the prestigious Golden Arrow train.

It consists of a dark green metal disc with a black border painted with the words "GOLDEN ARROW" in gold, with the two letter "O"'s pierced by a diagonal golden dart that points from top left to bottom right.

The arrowhead and flights extend past the edges of the disk, and are backed by a metal reinforcing bar.

Authenticity

It's difficult to authenticate a piece like this, but we believe that it's one of the original badges that were fixed to the front of the locomotives assigned to the Golden Arrow service. If it's not, then someone has gone to the trouble of making a very good replica!
