Ford Royal Mail Van (Triang Minic 3M)(i)
|Arch Three , Area 65 |
1930s Layout, central section, front
The van is all-red (including the front wheelarches) with white tyres and a Shell petrol can on the runningboard, a Royal Mail strip and crest along the side, and "TRI-ANG" and MINIC" on and below the back doors, with quarter-circle back windows.
Since the letters surrounding the crown are E R, for Edward VIII, who was only briefly king during 1936, this dates the piece ot 1936 or 1937 (the E R is just discernable in the image in a 1937 catalogue).
