2016

A Mobaco model of a Large Town Hall or University Building. This model was added to our displays in 2016, as part of the Museum's 25th anniversary series of improvements.

The design

This is a frankly massive model, and it's based on the largest "official" Mobaco design that we know of. The design was used as a final piece of inspirational lineart on the last page of the two Mobaco manuals that we have in our archives. These manuals supply no plans, floorplans or parts lists for the design, which is presumably something that was put together at the Mobaco factory as a "What the heck" exercise.

We started recreating the model in early April 2016, with a number of false starts and partial do-overs as the building grew, and as we found that certain parts in our stock started to run out.

The unnamed building (the Mobaco manual doesn't supply names for its designs) uses four of the largest size of baseplate stacked together side-by-side.
