Wardie Master Models

Wardie Master Models were a well-respected range of diecast metal accessories for 00-gauge model railway layouts, competing with some of the smaller-scale Dinky Toys accessories, and with the Britains Liliput range.

Promotional materials

Master Models had good-quality castings and bright colours, but, as B.J. Ward was rather smaller than their competitors like Meccano Ltd and Britains, and didn't have expensive graphic designers and artists on the payroll, the range was rather let down by the slightly unflattering "blobby" black-and-white photographic catalogue and advertising images, and the slightly wierd numbering scheme.

Manufacturing (Kemlows)

The Master Models range seems to have been manufactured for B.J. Ward by Kemlows Diecasting Products Ltd.

Kemlows was founded in 1946 by Charles Kempster and William Lowe in 1946, and is still going, although it has now moved out of London.
