Template:Loco

From The Brighton Toy and Model Index

This is the new standard template for adding details about the original locomotive (the "prototype") that has been modelled.

It should be used for ALL loco models

Not all loco models are literal representations of real engines, in which case we just include the identified railway company (if there is one), the cab number or running number (if there is one), and the wheel configuration.

Fields:

  1. Railway company (standardised abbreviation, letters only)
  2. loco running number (any prefixes or leading letters stripped, just the last numerical block). If there is definitely no running number (loco is blank, or only has a name), use a single dash, - .
  3. wheel configuration (eg 4-6-0, 4-4-2)
Date1= date or decade, preferably the exact date that the loco was built or went into service (1862, or 1930s)
Date2= date that the loco was taken out of service/ or scrapped
DateX= version modelled -- a loco like the Flying Scotsman may have had different liveries, physical configurations, railway company markings (LNER/BR), and running numbers over its lifetime. This field refers to the year of the version that has been modelled (if known)
