Silver Cross is famous for its prams, having created the first recognisable classic pram in 1877. The company are still producing prams today.
The company also produced a range of "Strong Toys", which were mostly (but not all) wheeled ride-on toys.
History
William Wilson is credited as having invented and produced the first pram in 1877, in Silver Cross Street, Leeds. The Silver Cross Works followed in 1898, followed by a further Silver Cross Works.
The company moved to a new larger location Guiseley, Leeds, for the years 1936-2002
