Card No. 38  : The SIKORSKY AMPHIBIAN (U.S.A.)

The S 38B is a twin-engined aircraft with a cruising speed of 110 m.p.h., used largely on the American airlines. It operates mainly on the coastal services and is in regular use between New York-Cuba, and New York-S. America. It will be noticed that unlike other flying-boats the hull does not extend to the tail, this being carried on out-riggers from the top wing. The hull accommodates two pilots and a cabin for fifteen passengers and in addition there are compartments for mail, luggage and mooring tackle.
