A Hornby Series M Series signal with H-girder folded tinplate pole, printed with a series of six wide blue bands.
Operation
The signal is controlled by a thick wire that runs down the body of the pole and passes through a shaped hole to emerge at 90 degrees as a horizontal signal lever. This can be hooked into one of two positions to set the signal state.
