A boxed Primus Engineering Standard Outfit No.1, from the 1920s.

Instructions book

The set has the full "late 1923" instruction manual, listing models that can be built with all the standard sets up to and including the No.5 Outfit. We'd normally expect the No.1 set of come with a smaller manual such as the No.1-No.3 manual ... so this manual might be an upgrade by the original owner from the original. Or it might be that after the manufacturers had the larger manuals printed, they might have started including them in the smaller sets, too ... we currently don't know.

Original owner

The set was originally owned by John Hillas of Bradford, and was donated to the museum by his son Deryck Hillas in 2019.
