A blue and white single-arm Hornby Series No.1E Electrical Lamp Standard, from the early 1930s.

The lamp has a white latticework upright and white arm, and a blue finial, lamp body and reflector, and blue rectangular base with two terminal connections. The appearance of the 1E and 2E reflected the appearance of electrical lighting in real railway stations, replacing the earlier gas lighting.

Catalogue image of the double-arm version of the lamp, 2E, from 1935. Other than only having only one lamp and one arm (and a different base), 1E is pretty much identical. Both items started being listed in about 1931.
