Card No. 12: The DE HAVILLAND "MOTH-MAJOR" (Great Britain)

Probably the most famous of all light aeroplanes. Its record flights and other achievements have been chronicled more regularly than those of any other machine in the world. In its various forms it has held practically every record in its class and it has taken a large part in the rapid growth of sporting flying. Designed for cheap and easy flying, it has proved capable of being used for many other purposes. The "Moth-Major" illustrated, a two-seater biplane with the famous “Gipsy-Major" engine, has a cruising speed of about 96 mph.
