Card No. 31  : The BELLANCA RACER (U.S.A.)

The Bellanca Racer was specially designed and built for the England-Australia Air Race. It was entered by an Irish syndicate but owing to various troubles which developed, could not be ready in time for the start. It has a 700 h.p. engine and the undercarriage is retractable. The cockpit which is fairly large for a racing machine, has two seats both fitted with controls and there is a directional wireless set installed. The Bellanca is capable, it is claimed, of a top speed of 270 m.p.h.
