After the success of chemistry sets, many manufacturers also started producing electricity sets.

These had the same basic themes as the chemistry sets, of containing a stock of parts and materials along with an instruction booklet of experiments that could be used to demonstrate a range of chemical (or in this case, electrical) concepts and principles.

Electricity sets typically contained wire to wind electromagnets, a compass needle, and other miscellaneous pieces such as light bulbs and switches.
