An old, rare early version of the Lego Town Plan Set baseboard, listed on some sites as dating from 1957.
This older, non-folding version of the baseboard has the "old" version of the layout, appears to be stencilled, and has an almost home-made feel to it. Street blocks are not rigidly aligned, street blocks are by default "grassed" in patterned green, and – horrors! – a zebra crossing actually crosses a road at a slight angle!
Later versions of the design were rather more conformist.
