The trains and locos pictured are:

  • "The Bristolian" (GWR), hauled by loco 3821 "County of Bedford"
  • "The Yorshireman" (LMS), hauled by loco 1185, and
  • "Folkestone Flyer" (Southern), Hauled by loco 1759.

The fourth "No.2 Special" train and locomotive, "The Scarborough Flyer" (LNER), hauled by loco 201 "Bramham Moor", is described, but pictured on its own separate page.
