A small boxed 4V electric motor by Signalling Equipment Limited (SEL), SEL catalogue number 1262.

The motor has two red curved magnetic pole-plates, a three-arm set of coils, and an electromagnet between the plates. the base is black (or very dark) moulded plastic/Bakelite, and the motor has its original printed brown cardboard box and instruction sheet.
