A classic clockwork tin clown with a large red nose, made by Nomura, Japan.
The clown wears a yellow cloth top and red-and-white striped trousers, and has orangey-brown tinplate shows with leatherwork-pattern detail, and a red tin hat, which it raises when activated.
The back of the shoes have text reading "Nomura / Japan".
A version of this clown toy was sold for many years with an "Eat at Joes" cardboard sandwich-board.
Location
The toy is displayed on the lower level shelving of the "Britain's Circus" cabinet.
