Round2 Corp are a US company that produces new runs and replicas of classic American plastic model kits, diecast models and slotcars that would otherwise have gone out of production and become unavailable.
The brands that Round2 have acquired rights to reproduce include AMT, Lindberg, Hawk and MPC.
Run by model kit enthusiasts, Round2 have effectively "rescued" a range of kits so that they are available again to people who actually want to build them - the problem with original classic vintage kits being that as soon as you build one and paint it, it becomes partly the modeller's own creation and is no longer a pristine historic kit. The availability of repro and reissue kits means that builders can happily build these new models with a clear conscience, knowing that they are not destroying an increasingly rare piece of cultural heritage.
