"Hornby Trains"
(Post-War)(0-4-0)(-)

The large Hornby No.2 Tank Locomotive, with its front and back bogeys and 4-4-4 configuration, first appeared back in 1923.

Meccano Ltd was distinguishing between its "Zulu" and "Hornby" ranges, and the design was simply called "The Hornby Tank Locomotive", because the other (smaller) tank locomotive was a Zulu.

When Hornby dropped the Zulu branding, so that all the locos became Hornbys, the 0-4-0 Zulu Tank Locomotive became the Hornby No.1 Tank Locomotive, and the 4-4-4 model became the Hornby No.2 Tank Loco.
