Choice of angles

The Circuit 24 track was notable for the way that it dealt with angle sections. Instead of doing the boring obvious (and urealistic) thing of having 90º and 45º sections, or putting a little more thought into the problem and dividing 90º by the ratio 2:1, into 60º and 30º sections (with outre sections using a common 30º angle), Circuit 24 took a more subtle approach and divided a 90º curve into two by the ratio 3:2, giving 54º and 36º , the 54º being subdividable into three 18º outer sections, and the 36º subdividing into two 18º outer sections.

Since the human eye is quite good at noticing exact 45º angles and mixtures of 60º and 30º, the normal default choice of angles would have been fine for constructing models of "geometrical" custom-built racetracks, but not so good at building realistic looking tracks based on an "organic" road layouts (such as Le Mans).
