Castoys

1948 - (1956?)

Mettoy Castoys (a compaction of "Cast Toys") were a range of heavy but quite nice largeish diecast metal vehicles produced by Mettoy from 1948 onwards.

These were fitted with clockwork motors, but were "windowless" – they were superceded by the more successful Corgi Toys range (1956-), which boasted plastic windows and plastic interiors, effectively making the Castoys range obsolete.
