Classic Locomotives (display)

A maroon gauge 0 model of the LMS "Princess Royal" Class 4-6-2 "Princess Elizabeth" locomotive, in its original wooden display box, in very nice condition. The Princess Elizabeth ran from 1933 to 1962.

Made by Meccano for Hornby circa 1935, this was an "aspirational" model to own in its day. As Hornby's "flagship" model locomotive, with a price tag to match, Hornby even offered financing for the model.

Other models

The Museum has a second example of a Hornby gauge 0 "Princess Elizabeth" locomotive on its central Gauge 0 model railway layout.
