Kiddicraft_and_Lego_bricks.jpg(675 × 500 pixels, file size: 49 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

A white Kiddicraft "Self-Locking" brick from ~ 1947, connected to a set of modern (2012) grey Lego bricks. The external dimensions of the four vertical walls are indistingishable on both companies' bricks.

Note the Kiddicraft brick's two end-slots (which also appeared on early Lego bricks).

Otherwise, the main external changes are that the Kiddicraft brick had slightly bevelled upright edges (which are simple 90-degree corners on the Lego brick), and the small "blobs" that appeared on on the top of the Kiddicraft brick's pegs as an aid to location when fitting bricks together are removed on the Lego brick to create a flat surface for the company's name.
