A grey gauge 0 model of a French "Chemins de fer de l'État" Mountain-type 4-8-2 express locomotive and tender with red baseline, number ME 66/12920, made by Märklin.
The "mountain" locos' eight drive wheels gave superior traction on difficult slopes.
This was one of the "heavy" 20V electric models made by Märklin for the American market, circa 1935.
From the leaflet:
- " The new heavy duty Mountain Express locomotive 4-8-2 of the Etat Railroad of France
- Length overall 23 ½ inches.
- Finish dull black or grey. "
