In 1987, Bachmann were bought by Kader Industrial Co. Ltd of Hong Kong, who had been manufacturing for Bachman since the 1950's, and who also acquired the German Liliput brand.
The Bachmann Branchline 00-gauge range appeared in 1990, and Bachmann introduced their Blue Riband branding for premium-quality models in their range in 1998.
Bachmann produced a range of cartoonish London Underground train models with faces as tie-in for the "Underground Ernie" animated children's tv series.
