We are always looking for new volunteers to help staff the museum and keep it running on a day to day basis. There will usually be roles from manning the shop, general maintenance and administrative tasks to accountancy and legal work. We also need people who can offer their time and skills to help with our marketing, publicity, promotion, graphic design and artwork. Whatever you can offer in the way of skills and experience, it’s likely we will be able to find a role for you.

It is the support of our loyal volunteers that keeps the museum open. Not to mention, as a volunteer, you’ll get to see the exhibits as often as you like!

The museum has a full time managerial team but is staffed largely by volunteers. To coordinate and train our volunteers we are now seeking a Deputy Museum Manager. The post has responsibility for front of house management and representing the public face of the museum. The role will support and report to the museum manager and will provide support as required to the Museum Director.
Candidates should be a well motivated, flexible, pragmatic creative self starter with a genuine interest in offering outstanding customer service and working in a heritage or museum environment. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to take on an interesting and varied position within the museum sector.
