A gauge 0 lithographed tinplate model London and South Western Railway First and Third Class Passenger Carriage 1328, in LSWR lined orange-and-dark-brown, with a grey roof. The model carriage was made by Carette for Bassett-Lowke in 1911.

Window detail

Carette's characteristic ultra-detail lithography can be seen in action on the two "frosted" windows on the carriage's side – while the rest of the windows are simple cutouts, the two opaque windows are mirrored with extremely intricate white patterning, to an extent far beyond what you might expect to find on this type of model. This seems to be an example of Carette seizing the opportunity to show off their mastery of lithography, even though the artistic possibilities of the rest of the carriage – paintwork reproducing paintwork – were more limited.
