Puppet Corner

A contemporary commercial glovepuppet of "Sweep" the dog", friend of Harry Corbett's "Sooty" the bear.

Sweep was a grey dog with long black ears, a slightly forlorn expression, and fondness for bones, sausages, and playing the saxophone. Sweep also didn't speak, but could make highly expressionful (and often increasingly outraged) squeaky noises, provided by Harry's brother Leslie Corbett with the help of a saxophone reed.

The commercial "Sweep" hand-puppets typically came with a built-in "squeaker" that the user could operate by squeezing their hand to make a range of suitably expressive Sweep-style noises.
