The tender is marked NEW YORK CENTRAL in white lettering.
The museum example
As an early example of diecasting, the Lionel 700E/700T models were subject to a certain amount of manufacturing variation that wouldn't have been obvious to the time, and some examples have aged more elegantly than others.
This particular example is in reasonable condition, but is showing some small-radius "bubbling" under the paintwork. Since this reduces the visual impact of the rather excellent 700E locomotive in front of it, we're hoping to swap the tender off display for a cleaner example at some point.
