A plastic-shelled yellow (and black) horizontal Meccano six-speed electric motor, in it's orignal box. The box has a clear window to show the motor.
This piece has French packaging and instructions, and although it seems to obviously be the 1965 Power Drive "EMPD" ("Electric Motor Power Drive"), made in Germany for Meccano by Marx, it doesn't seem to carry any of these identifications (other then "Meccano"), and is simply referred to as "ref 228".
Just visible on the motor is a sticker that says:
- Type: 6V/1000
- 3-12V D.C.
