A blue and white tinplate Hornby Series Loading Gauge, with a blue rectangular base and blue band around the bottom of the post, and a squat rectangular blue post-cap, from the mid-1930s.
Identification and dating
The earliest example of an illustration of the "flat top" version of the blue and white loading gauge is in the The Book of Hornby Trains and Meccano Products, circa ~1934
