==This exhibit is scheduled to go on display during 2016, as part of the museum's 25th anniversary improvements==,

An "Oilette" postcard of "Her Majestys Boudoir", The Queen's Dolls' House (later to be known as Queen Mary's Dolls' House), produced by Raphael Tuck and Sons ("Tuck's Postcards") catalogue number 4503-1. These postcards started to be produced in 1924, when the dollhouse first went on public display.

SERIES IV: THE QUEEN'S PRIVATE BOUDOIR

-

IV: 4503: HER MAJESTY’S BOUDOIR.

There are over 30 rooms in the Queen's Dolls' House and despite their diminutive size they are realistic and marvellously complete to the smallest detail. In this intimate royal apartment we are lost in admiration of the wall designs of lotus flowers, by Edmund Dulac, painted on brown silk, the beautiful bamboo Chippendale chairs and the lovely jade ornaments and vases. The rug is an exact reproduction of a Chinese carpet of the Chi'en Lung period.
