A painted hollowcast lead Chimpanzee, from the Britains Zoo range, probably pre-war, catalogue number 915.

Giulia: " This animal seems curious and is face is painted to show visitors wonder. It is all black painted except the face and ears that are dark pink. It is represented as it is walking. "

" The Monkeys are the nearest in structure to the human race and inhabit West and Central Africa. Many of them have been tamed at Zoological Gardens and have shown a remarkable degree of intelligence. "
